159) I want to say that this has been an amazing experience. This house has been so nice to come home to after my conference. It was perfect walking distance to Downtown and I loved coming back here instead of staying at a hotel. Plus all the money I saved by staying here made my trip that much more relaxing. It is nice and quiet here and I loved the experience. I appreciate what you have created and thank you for an incredible stay. I encourage everyone coming to SLC to stay at one of Arthur's Hostels. Truly a unique experience compared to staying with the mass of people downtown. Awesome! I recommend this to everyone!!!

155) What a great introduction to Salt Lake City! I had a very pleasant stay at the Camelot. The room and facilities were excellent and very clean. The location can't be beat. Automated check-in is unique and easy. I will recommend this great value to my friends in Kentucky. Many thanks.
Joseph Kemp (CG)

154) Arthur and his mother were there prepping the room for me when I arrived. I was a little early for check in, but they were kind and personable and let me hang out in the common area until my room was ready. The self check in was very easy and there are signs everywhere that help you along the way. It was great. The room was clean and came with everything listed in the description. I was worried because I came traveling with quite a bit of luggage in my move across the country and there were no locking foot lockers included in the rooms, but the rooms are very very secure and safe. I stayed for two days and had my laptop and lots of other valuables in the room every time I went out to explore or meet with friends and I wasn't worried about it at all. Very safe and secure building. I would stay here again in a heartbeat if I ever return to Salt Lake City.
Thank you for everything!

121) I was looking for a place to stay for 1 or two weeks while I was trainning for my new job in Salt Lake City, but I didn t have the time to find a place because I was always at work, so I stayed at the guest house the first week...but I liked it so much, that I stayed for 5 weeks total, everything was great, the place was clean every single day; Bathrooms kitchen, all the areas clean all the time, my room was fantastic for the price, best thing  the train was across the street from the house,  all the clubs and fun places in downtown, couple of block away from the house, so I was able to walk everywhere from there, the people in charge of the place, extremely nice, I will always remember this sweet lady, Isabel...she used to come everymorning and do things around the house, I even learned some portuguese with her...and the people who stayed in the house made it even better, college students, lots of europeans on vacations, very very nice people...so what can I say..I had a great time at the guest house I recommended 100%.

I was only looking for a cheap and quiet place to stay and I found a very fine room. Free internet was definitely useful as it allowed me to work during my holidays. 110) I really do appreciate the fact there was a place like this available at a very crucial time in my life. I was evicted from my apartment due to the fact I was staying with an irresponsible roommate who I thought was a good friend. Well anyways I can't say enough about how grateful I am to run across Camelot, it has really been a blessing in my life. It's in a very convenient spot for me and it's close to my work. 106) For my recent move to Salt Lake City, The Jefferson House was instrumental in my making a quick transition to permanent housing. Unbelievably convenient, clean, and incredibly reasonably priced. Wonderful downtown location, steps from Trax, free close by parking. Perfectly working WIFI, cable TV connection in the room, a kitchen that (for me) was always open and available. For me, Arthur and his beautiful concept was absolutely key to my move to Salt Lake City. I'll never forget my wonderful experience at The Jefferson House.
Matthew Roger Cary (JG)
Phoenix Arizona, USA

105) It was wonderful to be able to check in within minutes. The room and bathroom were very clean. They had a fantastic kitchen with a microwave, coffeemaker, refrigerator, laundry. So if I wanted to, I could have had breakfast there. And, it was 2 minutes walking from a TRAX station. I took the TRAX everywhere.

100) I am writing an article on 'Cheap Ski" (how to ski on the cheap) and will
submit it for publication to SKI, SNOW, etc magazines, who will then
publish it for their 2009 ski season. I am including information on the Camelot, which I like...it is clean,
nice people, with alot of facilities that even the most expensive hotels
don't have, i.e. refrigerator, micro-wave, washer and dryer, computer and
fax access...

97) I think this is so secure hostel (guest house) I have ever seen. It has been protect by cameras and technologies that you may never seen in other hostel... Everything goes good and I recomended this place to stay for a night. The toilets is clean.
Jaruphat Panprommin (8S)
Thailand

96) Far exceeded my expectations- My stay at the hostel (guesthouse) was most memorable. The concierge, Joshua, was extremely friendly and helpful, even at times when he wasn't scheduled to be on duty. Management has done a good job of excluding the local near-homeless population that sometimes plaque urban hostels. Fellow travelers were most interesting and excellent company. The facilities were first rate for budget accommodations, among the best I've ever seen. The bathrooms were extremely clean and numerous. The kitchen facilities (including an oven for baking!) allowed me to prepare my meals everyday. I highly recommend this facility to everyone (and in fact I've told many people staying elsewhere in the area what a gem this place is). Should I have the opportunity to return to SLC in the future, I won't even consider staying anywhere else.
George Maston (8S)
Massachusetts, USA

95) I want to tell you that I really have a good impression of the guest houses that I stayed at recently. The price, the location, the system to control access (quick check-in computers), were all good. I will recommend it to friends and would not hesitate to stay there in the future.

Virginia Tice (8S)
California, USA

75) It's so safe.... it's like a bunker, you can be sure that you're in a safe area. The security system is a bit difficult, but so secure. And also it's so clean and you have the possibility to cook, and to have cold drinks, and food.
Carlos Rico (8S)
Spain

74) Very clean and good location. A nice place to meet interesting people. We love this place very much.
Ya-Mei Chang (8S)
Taiwan

73)
You're self check-in system is AMAZING. As I said, 90% of my time is spent away from home. If all hotels had this system in place, it would ease the weary traveller... It's also attractive for the business traveler too. My trips to Utah are not covered by my employer. Spending the money on a local apartment is also unrealistic. Why spend $800/mo on a place you're never at - right?
George Fisher (8S)
Wyoming, USA

72) ...We had a great stay. The video game machine was a lot of fun, and the room was ready for us. Guidelines (including check-in and check-out) were clear, and I liked that we could check-in, even though we got there very late.
Laura Dziorny (CG)

71) Very clean place, a bit strange checking in without seeing anyone, but if you follow the instructions it works fine.

70) Another great stay at the 800 South Guesthouse! The service here is consistently good and the location can't be beat. Forget about those other hostels on the list and stay here when you are in Salt Lake.

69) This hostel (800 S Guest House) is one of the best I have ever stayed in. It has a nice modern look on the inside, check-in is easy, the common areas are clean and the management are easy to get a hold of if you need something. The best part is it is a 3 minute walk from the city light rail line. I would stay here again for sure.

68) I did enjoy my stay to the uttermost
- The hostel (800 South Guest House) is neat, tidy and user-friendly. The host lists clear instructions that everything is in good hand. I enjoy sitting in the living room and chatting with the friends I just made there. There was a TRAX station and a 7-11 convenience store one minute away on foot. Every place was so accessible. With the cheap price, I got the great service I never expected. If I have a chance to visit there, Camelot Hostel will still be my choice. Thank the host and the assistants.

67) Camelot Hostel's (800 South Guest House) Self-Check in/check out process was a breeze. You can come and go at this hostel and never speak a word to another human being, if you wanted to. Not the best place for parties and meeting adventurous travel companions, but awesome if you need some quiet time to yourself.

63) Great -- clean and organized
Camelot Hostel is very clean and highly efficient. The instructions of the hostel are clearly explained, and having access to free internet use is highly convenient. The staff is very helpful and the location is within a mile of the city center. There are also many amenities that are provided as well including a washer/dryer on-site.

62) Arthur, This place is great! I like it allot. I met one of the residents who was so kind to show me the area a bit, I love the house it’s very clean and homely feeling. I want to know if I can extend my stay two more nights, checking out on the 7th. If this is available, please let me know... I had also booked a room at a suites hotel in case I did not like the guesthouse, but one night here and I enjoyed it very much, it’s a quiet place and perfect for me.

60) Very Clean. Quiet. Well run!
It was located near downtown Salt Lake City. And right off the main freeways which was great because I had a rental car. They had a parking area that was private which was great. The place was very clean. Quiet. Most of the guests where adults which was perfect because I was on a business trip. The owner and management is extremely courteous and helpful. I needed something because I forgot to indicate it during my booking of my room. I emailed the owner and had what I needed in about five minutes. Awesome! All in all it was the best hostel experience I've had to date. I will definitely be back next time I'm in the SLC area.

56) As an independent software developer I find that the broadband at the Camelot house is reliable and fast. I can stay in touch with my clients even when out of town. I have traveled the world staying in numerous hostels throughout Europe and at the Camelot house is the BEST hostel I have ever stayed at. I never have to worry about people smoking hash in the TV room and feel my valuables are always secure, for example I went to a breakfast the other morning and did not lock my room correctly, not only were all my belongings still there - cameras laptops etc. but Arthur came and looked at the doorknob and jam and determined it was the fixture and promptly committed to fix it. This is a testament to the quality of people that stay at Camelot. I have had less service from luxury hotels that "cater" to business travelers.

55) This is really a cool hostel, the new creative check-in system is just like playing a treasure finding game! I think this place is even more than a hostel. It also trains you to self-discipline and resolve the problems independently. It is in a very convenient location and has complete equipment, including kitchen, laundry, WiFi and bicycle... you just can't miss such a cool place and a self test!

54) Everything I needed I was looking for a reasonably priced place to stay while making a ski trip to Salt Lake City in March. Camelot Guest House turned out to be perfect. Offered a place to sleep in a quiet neighborhood within walking distance of everything I needed (grocery store, Hard Rock Cafe) and a thirty- to forty-minute drive to Alta and Snowbird. Facilities were great allowing me to prepare and store my food and save a bundle. I plan to return next year.

53) I liked being able to check myself in and there are lots and lots of signs all over the place to let you know what's up. The place was clean, cute, and convenient. The A/C worked -- it was nice and cool and my room had a ceiling fan... Overall, it was a very pleasant experience. I would recommend this place.

44) My stay at Jefferson, while apartment searching, was delightful. Felt like home away from home. I liked that it's a house with room for just a few travelers. John and Isabel are *wonderful* hosts (and their little dog, Sandy). What a comfortable place to come back to after work: a quiet, clean place to sleep, cook a meal in the kitchen, watch TV or check e-mail, and chat with other travelers. Arthur, who owns the Camelot Guest Houses, is very accommodating and timely getting back to you, too. Thanks for helping with my transition to Salt Lake!

41) Camelot Hostel is a MILLION BUCKS! And, you can tell Arthur I said so. The first word that comes to mind when I think of Camelot is VALUE. You get a private room for $20 a night - in downtown Salt Lake City! Plus, they have a jacuzzi shower with a stereo in it. Plus, the whole place was just remodeled. I've been in rich people's homes that aren't this nice. And, Arthur and his staff REALLY care about you liking their place. Every time I saw him, he was smiling and doing something to make Camelot a nicer place. Finally, more than once, I have sent Arthur e-mails, only to have my questions answered or concerns addressed within just a very few minutes. Who else is going to do that for you? You owe it to yourself to stay at this amazing place, with these good people.

40) I just got back this AM from Salt Lake City. I stayed at the Camelot guest house after my friend bailed last minute... The people staying there were great. I even went out for some drinks with some of them. It's walking distance of downtown, a mile from I-15 and 35 minute drive Alta... You can rent a compact car (at least to get you to the LCC or BCC where you can take the ski bus) and still be ahead of the game. PS: I got my superpass through travelocity, and they had: buy at least two days and get one free.

39) This place should be a model for hostels from coast to coast. After staying in many hostels in recent years, I find that this one here in SLC is about as close as possible to "PERFECT". The owner Arthur is a true professional gentleman, and has covered all the angles in successfully building a quality establishment. Very Clean, Respectful Guests, Quiet Rooms, Great Amenities, Great Location. A superb lodging facility that meets and exceeds.

36) Clean, well organized. Lots of helpful signs re: resources and advice. Manager welcomed us and showed us resources. Lovingly restored old Victorian house. Other guests quiet and friendly. Cool, old touch-screen arcade game machine plays free in the lounge. Big, clean mirrors. Charming eccentric decor -- dragon rug in the lobby, movie promo Obi Wan Kenobi cutout, suit of armor, fish tank.

35) My daughter and I really enjoyed our two-night stay at Camelot Guest House. Jason was there when we arrived and helped us figure it out. I am sure we would have done OK from your instructions, but it was very pleasant to have his friendly help getting settled. I travel very rarely, so I was grateful. Praise for: The whole building smelled fresh and clean. Lots of informative signs. Good advice pleasantly told. The building is beautifully renovated, and the decor uncluttered and pleasingly eccentric. I do love old Victorian style houses, and am glad to see one so lovingly cared for. A good heavy window curtain in D2, our room. (Did your Mom make it, as Jason guessed?) Nice thermo pane window. We loved being way up above the street; it was quiet, and private feeling. I put my bedroll down under the
overhang by the window, and slept really well. Hardwood parquet floor in D2 very pleasant and clean.
The "magic code" back door is fun. Nice well-marked parking area behind the house.
Good instructions in the e-mails. The coded room key box is a wonderful "self service" idea. The lounge is pleasant, the arcade machine fun. Use of a computer. Bathrooms clean, with plenty of toilet paper. Timer light switches in public areas. I liked the chance to make our own bed up the way we like it. Nice rack-style shelves in the room.
Good information resources: Bus schedule with highlighting in the kitchen. Also phone books and (vital for us) a medium scale handout map. Thank you very much for use of a local phone call telephone. (Our Alltel car phone can receive but not dial out in UT.) Kitchen wall clock very helpful. Fridge space/microwave. Good idea to label everything. You keep the place imaginatively organized. The first night, we discovered the light wasn't working in the bathroom by the kitchen. Jason took note, and fixed it promptly. To wrap up... I thought your facility far superior in charm and pleasantness to the "regular" motels I have stayed in. Thank you so much for encouraging us to try Camelot Guest House by fitting our limited budget so well.

34) I was in Salt Lake City for a collaboration with the University of Utah (I'm a PostDoc in Computer Science), and I found Camelot to be the right place for me: good price (the same as in-campus apartments, but without being forced to stay more than 3 months), good location (walking distance to the TRAX, the bus and a supermarket), good cleanness and great people as roommates. Good also for provided options (fridges, kitchens, Internet in your room, TV). I definitely recommend it.

33) The second part of this is more personal, it's my personal thanks for running an establishment like Camelot. So then to deal with business things first. I, Matthew Jonathan Deane, as per our discussion am putting in my formal notice of Moving out of Camelot on October 8th, that I might still be entitled back with my deposit.... now that formalities are taken care of... onto the real meat of this letter. I must say I was never "thrilled" with the state of Utah, but one thing that I did always enjoy was coming home to Camelot. The guesthouse you provided gave me the real feel of "coming home". It was a much more personal feel than many of the places I've lived and traveled to in the past, and I must say you did a phenomenal job of providing a outstanding atmosphere, and a great clientele. I've always found interesting discussions to be one of my passions in life, and the clients you chose to rent to always were intelligent and well educated. I made many fast friends during my stay at Camelot, friends I will have and cherish for years to come. Some I've even talked about visiting in their countries. I've enjoyed the barbecues, the camaraderies, and the overall feeling of people doing things with their lives. I've enjoyed your help, and hard work on the property, and I truly wish you the best. Truth be told I could talk for hours about the wonders of this place, and never truly do it justice, but one thing I For certain want to say to you Arthur, is thank you, thank you for giving me a chance to be part of the wonder that truly is... Camelot.

28) I recently spent 6 nights at the Jefferson Guesthouse. I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was very clean and comfortable - and wonderful to have free use of the computer, TV and washing facilities. Arthur and his wife were very helpful in providing information regarding travel, shops and sightseeing. was visiting the Family History Center to do research, and found the Guesthouse quite suitable for this purpose - close to transport. 24) I had a great experience at the Jefferson House. The location can't be beat, so close to downtown and TRAX. Arthur treats his guests with true professionalism. I would suggest staying at the house to friends and family. excellent value. The location of the Guest House is excellent, and within easy striking distance to anything one might want to see or do in the Salt Lake City area. I stayed there for four evenings, and had no problems whatsoever with finding the Guest House, security in the neighborhood, etc. The Guest House staff is very friendly, accommodating, and informative. Also, the Camelot Guest House has everything a traveler could want in terms of amenities, laundry and kitchen facilities, very clean and abundant bathrooms, Internet access, etc. I would definitely stay there again...

23) We had layover in SLC on our way north for the summer... not quite knowing what to expect, we were down for anything. Camelot was a pleasant surprise -- the room was basic, utilities great, yet the people were the real jewel. We pulled up around 9PM to meet a few people sitting out on the front lawn, talking and watching the night fall. Everyone was super friendly, helpful, approachable and gave off a good sense of community. In short, I definitely recommend Camelot for an affordable trip to Salt Lake City -- it's right in the middle of everything, we walked everywhere. Do note the Coffee Break Cafe a few blocks away and Sage Cafe for vegan/vegetarian breakfast, also a few blocks away.

The whole house is very clean. Here are several restrooms, all well-equipped and spotless. My room is welcoming and inviting. Other good things include great, accessible free parking; ironing board and iron; free laundry; free Easy Mac (may not always be available, who knows); fast Internet (I'm using it right now); great location; and great price. I highly recommend Camelot Rooms.

21) What a gem! More than a hostel - and having stayed in a number of hostels and B&B's around the country, I'd call it more of a B&B just without the breakfast. I might even call it... ....Camelot! Nice authentic Victorian house both with a magnificent mountain view from the porch while still in the center of a vibrant, clean city and within walking distance of almost more than I can list. Free high-speed Internet both on a provided PC and for wireless laptops, cable TV, a separate gaming machine, weights and exercise machine, common areas to eat and meet, washer-dryer, walking distance from the city's light rail system, which takes you to the connection to the Airport, the U. of Utah and up and downtown to malls, arenas, Temple Square, Symphony Hall, the major arenas (e.g., where the Utah Jazz play) and exposition areas. And if you're driving, secure,
